- 1961 Signetics was started with a group of scientists and engineers from Fairchild Semiconductor
- Mid-1960’s Signetics established its first off-site plant
- First IC company to receive both Minuteman approval in 1967 and NASA line certification in 1970
- 1985 offered the first “zero defects” warranty on all Signetics products, which is still actively implemented today within NXP
- 1975 Signetics was purchased by the Philips Corporation
- 2006 Philips Semiconductor became NXP
- 2015 NXP merged with Freescale Semiconductor

- 1948 Freescale started as a division of Motorola
- 1955 developed the world’s first commercial high-power transistor
- 1969 their radio transponder delivered the first words from the moon
- 1973 first prototype was developed for the first analog mobile phone
- 2004 Freescale became autonomous by the divestiture of the Semiconductor Products Sector of Motorola
